About Us

I'm Nancy Colón, owner and photographer behind Nancy Colón Photography — an artisan studio specializing in family portraits, headshots, heirloom sessions, and (my personal favorite) pet portraits. I'm based in Arizona, where you can experience all four seasons... if you're willing to drive a little for them.

My love of pet photography started at home with my four German Shepherds, who taught me that every dog has a personality worth capturing — goofy, dignified, stubborn, or all three in one photo. That love grew into a passion for photographing all dogs, and eventually led me to volunteer my creativity at a local shelter in Maricopa County, helping animals there get noticed — and adopted.

I still laugh thinking about one session where the family's dog decided he wanted no part of picture day and bolted the second I got the camera out. I chased him down myself — and once I finally caught him, I figured the least I owed him was a free session. Turns out he was a total natural in front of the camera once he settled in. Funny how that works.

Moments like that are exactly why blending pets into family sessions feels so natural to me. After all, pets are family, even the reluctant ones.

Photography is my creative outlet — it calms my soul and lets me express myself fully. I'm an avid lover of color, because color evokes emotion, and I use color, texture, location, and season to bring depth and artistry to every session.

My commitment to you starts with our very first phone call and carries through to the final piece of artwork in your home. We'll collaborate on every detail together — what to wear, posing, location, time of day, even where the final images will hang. Every session is tailored to you, which makes the experience personal, collaborative, and genuinely fun (even when someone's dog has other plans). Expect an heirloom experience where I'm with you every step of the way — we'll laugh, we'll tear up a little, and we'll land on plenty of "wow" moments you'll remember for years.
